Pregnancy Options Counseling

Facing an unexpected pregnancy can feel very overwhelming at times. We understand and want you to know you do not have to face this situation alone. Our Staff and Consultants are here for you and are committed to giving factual and accurate information regarding all your pregnancy options. Education empowers you to make your best choice. While we do not perform or refer for abortion, our goal is to ensure every woman makes an informed decision regarding her pregnancy.

Our Lab Quality Pregnancy Test will first confirm if you are in fact pregnant. A limited scope Sonogram will be used to determine if your pregnancy is viable. Many women are not aware 25% of pregnancies end in miscarriage and a sonogram allows us to determine if you are experiencing a viable pregnancy.

Sexual Health Counseling, Screening & Treatment

The Uptown Women's Center is pleased to offer confidential and complimentary STD/STI screening and treatment as well as individual sexual health consults. Screening and treatment is available for both Chlamydia and Gonorrhea.

According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, Chlamydia is a common STD that can cause serious, permanent damage to a woman's reproductive system, making it difficult or impossible for her to get pregnant later and can also cause a potentially fatal ectopic pregnancy (pregnancy that occurs outside the womb). Gonorrhea is another common sexually transmitted disease (STD) that can cause infections in the genitals, rectum, and throat. It is a very common infection, especially among young people ages 15-24 years.

Other resources will be provided for information regarding additional sexual health screenings as needed.

Abortion affects women differently. Some women go through the abortion process seemingly unaffected by physical or emotional consequences. If this description sounds familiar, you could be suffering from post-abortion stress. Contact us if you or someone you know is troubled by a past abortion. Healing is possible. Many women and men will seek and receive help this year.. and you could be one of them.
